Deputy Minister for Social Security

Anna Efthymiou

Born in 1980 in Grevena, Greece, she has been based in Thessaloniki since 1990.

She is a graduate of the Law School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.) and holds a Master’s degree in Public Law and Political Science from A.U.Th. She has been practicing law since 2004 and, from 2008 until March 2025, ran her own law firm in Thessaloniki, specializing in Administrative, Labour, and Civil Law.

She has also been actively involved in public service and civic engagement. She provided voluntary legal services to the Thessaloniki Labour Center and served as Advisor on Youth Affairs to the Municipality of Thessaloniki from 2007 to 2010. She was elected Municipal Councillor of Thessaloniki for the 2011–2014 term and was a representative of New Democracy in the media in Northern Greece during the 2012 national elections.

She is a founding member and former President of “Young European Organized Capable – N.E.O.I.”, serving from 2007 to 2015.

In 2019, she was elected Member of the Hellenic Parliament for the First Constituency of Thessaloniki with New Democracy and was re-elected in 2023. From October 2023 to March 2025, she served as a member of the Greek delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, while from July 2024 to March 2025 she served as Deputy Parliamentary Representative of New Democracy.

She speaks English, French, and German and regularly contributes articles to newspapers, magazines, and online media.

She is married to Giorgos Manos, an Electronic and Computer Engineer, and they have two children, Christos and Alexandra
