By virtue of article 103 of Law 4172/2012, a new setting system for the statutory minimum salary and the statutory minimum wage was introduced, after broad consultation. Under the said article, the Minister of Labour has the authorization to issue Decision on its setting, with the consent of Ministers’ Cabinet.
This procedure began for the first time in September 2018 and ended with the adoption of Ministerial Decision No. 4241/127/30.1.2019, based on which the statutory minimum salary and the statutory minimum wage for full-time employment for white and blue collar workers throughout the country, without age discrimination were set from 1.2.2019.
From 1.4.2023, the statutory minimum salary and minimum wage for full-time employment for white and blue collar workers throughout the country are set as follows:
- For white collar workers, the minimum salary is set at 780,00 €.
- For blue collar workers the minimum daily wage is set at 34,84 €.
It is important to underline that, in accordance with paragraph 1/b of Article 103 of Law 4172/2013, individual labour contracts and labour collective agreements of any kind may not set regular monthly salaries or wages for full-time employment that are below the statutory minimum salary and wage or the corresponding proportion resulting for part-time employment contracts.
