Gender equality is not a female issue. It is a universal, social, political and economic issue that affects all societies.
Gender equality requires a society where men and women share equal goods, obligations and rights in all areas: work, politics, leadership, leisure, care, family and personal life.
However, substantive equality remains an ongoing issue.
Greece follows the strategic lines of the European Strategy for Gender Equality and the requirements of the Council of Europe Convention on Action against Violence against Women and Domestic Violence (Istanbul Convention), which are reflected in the new National Action Plan for Gender Equality 2021-2025.
